Regional Factsheet: CHANGING SOCIAL NORMS TO PREVENT VIOLENCE AGAINST WOMEN AND GIRLS

Partners for Prevention (P4P) supported primary prevention of violence against women and girls (VAWG) projects in five countries: Bangladesh, Cambodia, Indonesia, Papua New Guinea (PNG) and Viet Nam.

Viet Nam Factsheet

The Women’s Union, UN Women, UNV and UNFPA, with support of Partners for Prevention, are implementing a VAWG prevention project in Da Nang. The intervention addresses some key risk factors for VAWG, as identi ed in the UN Multi-Country Study on Men and Violence.

Papua New Guinea Factsheet

UN Women, UNICEF and the Nazareth Centre for Rehabilitation, with support from Partners for Prevention are implementing the Planim Save, Kamap Strongpela project (Plant Knowledge, Grow Strong) in Bougainville.

Indonesia Factsheet

The International Planned Parenthood Federation of Papua, UNFPA, UNV and UN Women with support from Partners for Prevention, are implementing a VAWG prevention project in Papua, Indonesia.

Cambodia Factsheet

The Ministry of Women’s Affairs, UNFPA, UN Women and UNV, with support from Partners for Prevention are implementing a VAWG prevention project in ve communes of Kampong Cham, Cambodia.

Bangladesh Factsheet

Many women and girls in Bangladesh experience physical, sexual or psychological violence throughout their lives, mainly due to structural inequalities and deeply-rooted social norms that condone violence and the subordination of women.

Using social media for the prevention of violence against women: Lessons learned from social media communication campaigns to prevent violence against women in India, China and Viet Nam
