The quantitative survey was conducted in Indonesia from 2012 to 2013 by Rifka Annisa, with support from UN Women Indonesia and Partners for Prevention.

The qualitative life history research was conducted in Aceh, Indonesia in 2011 by the Center of Women's Studies, State Islamic University (IAIN) of Ar-Raniry Banda Aceh, with support from UN Women Aceh and Partners for Prevention. The report is forthcoming.

A secondary analysis of the qualitative life history data from Aceh was conducted in 2012 by David Duriesmith, University of Melbourne to explore the intersections between colonialization, militarism and religion in shaping masculinities in Aceh, and the links to perceptions and practices of gender-based violence. The working paper is forthcoming.
